Arrels (which translates as ‘roots’ in Catalan) came into being in answer to the need to unite the best of Menorcan produce with its cuisine. Over two days, the Arrels fair will be the ‘agora’, the meeting point of the island’s gastronomy, with chefs from Menorca and further afield talking about their produce, techniques and recipes. Bringing Menorcan cuisine to the world, showing off its ingredients, both traditional and new. This gastronomic tradition is the driving force of the economy and a plays a powerful role in touristic sector. And of course the universal and iconic sauce, mayonnaise, has its birthplace in Mahon, the capital city of the island of Menorca.
29th to 30th April 2017

The fair consists of carefully selected producers and quality products. Visitors to the fair will be able to buy produce directly from the stands during the fair.
As well as the fair, Arrels has three areas for activities: The Aula de Cocina (cooking shows), the Aula de Degustación (tasting area) and Aula infantile (for children).
Menorca has its own cuisine and its own diet; it is a distinctive biosphere reserve and has a healthy lifestyle.
